Day 8: The Downfall of the Seow Ang Moh

Whoa is me. I only have two food pictures to share today, of which I could only eat half of one dish. The Ang Moh stomach has given out. The chilli appears to be too "heaty" for my delicate stomach lining and may have burned a gaping hole. I could only admire the soon kuey which is the Singapore version of a steamed dumpling filled with bamboo shoot, turnip, mushroom and dried shrimp. Of course eaten with chilli and some black sauce.

I had Eno for breakfast and lunch -- it's sodium bicarbonate. For indigestion and (as per the bottle) "heatiness." I could only sit and watch the locals chow down during lunch and dinner. My inability to eat did not stop them but they offered me duck porridge to calm my acidic stomach. That oyster omelette looked darn good but I did not dare test my hurling abilities. What was supposed to be a day of surfing the waves in Sentosa, turned out to be a day of being curled up in a ball watching Little Nonya Girl on television.
